Sometimes the fun part is digging through every piece of paper you own to find a perfectly coordinating pattern and color to accent a layout or card. Most people though, have a limited amount of papercrafting time and want to make the most of it. For those moments, double sided patterned paper is key! For this layout I used a large piece of October Afternoon book patterned paper for the center background.
I had trimmed it down from 12×12 and so I had a 2 inch strip left over. Rather than search high and low for a coordinating pattern, I simply flipped over my strip and used Kreaxions 907 Dots Punch to punch a fun border.
Not only does this save me time, but it definitely saves me money since I did not have to cut into another piece of paper! And it saves my sanity because I detest the pile up of scraps that happens when I dont use all of one piece of paper in one project! I also used the Kreaxions Butterfly Punch 604 to punch out a few little butterflies.
Since most of the colors of my layout were cool blues and greens, I was sure to punch some warmer reds and yellows to add little pops of color that stand out. So there you have it. Kreaxions border punches and mini shape punches are tools to save you both time and money! Happy Weekend!
