Borders and more borders

I want to share a card with you today that features a couple different techniques and the main one is punched borders. 

I used the 4-in-1 Fountain punch (922) to create my little borders and you can also see that I used the circle cutter to create my circles that form a flower. 

I punched along the entire bottom edge of my card and then I punched a couple strips for additional accents.  I am going to spell that out in a bit.

 
I wanted to give you a close-up of the punched, bottom edge. I did it all along the bottom edge so that the back side is even punched.  Notice the cardstock I used.  It is a piece of Black Magic by Core'dinations.  The front side is black, the reverse side is turquoise and when sanded, the turquoise core is exposed. 

Here are a couple photos to show you the steps I took.

I started at the one end of my cardstock with my first punch.  Notice I used the "A" plates for my positioning.  After I punched the first punch, I decided by position of where I wanted to make my additional punches so that they were all the same space.  I picked a spot that was a little more than half way into the previous punch, just along the little flourish piece.  This will be my reference point for all of the punches. 

I wanted to punch additional strips to place across my card so I cut 1" strips.  After punching along the one side, I turned the piece over and found the middle of the punched image on the first row and inserted that into the punch so that when I punched again, my punch would be in the same place. 

 
I used the Kreaxions circle cutter for my larger white circle and the small half green circles that will be the petals for my flower accent.  I am in love with this circle cutter! It is so small and compact and it is so easy to use.  I love that it takes a second to decide the size of the circle.  For my turquoise circles, I only wanted partial circles so I used the straight edge of my paper.
