Happy Tuesday! Angela Fehr here and I'm happy to share an in-progress project with you. My neighbours recently had their first child and I wanted to make a special keepsake gift for their new son. I think I'll make a batch of buns for them as well – fresh baking is always appreciated, and I'm sure they already have tons of clothes for the little guy!
I used a 6 1/4" accordion album from Close to My Heart for the base of this gift. When the album is complete, it can be unfolded to stand on a table, or folded to store, and they get 8 pages of picture space. So far I've only completed the cover – the most important page! – and I used one of the June challenge sketches for my inspiration.
The page:
I used Kreaxions punch #304 for the border and photo mat corners. For the corners, I used the B insert and I love the way it came out. And it's not Just Imagine's fault that I misplaced their circle cutter (serious scrap room cleaning is long overdue!) but it is their fault that I am now spoiled for any other circle cutter. I have a similar cutter that I did locate (for the little yellow circle on the upper left), and boy, it didn't work nearly as well as the Just Imagine/Kreaxions circle cutter. I ended up cutting most of the circle cutter out with my scissors. I will be cleaning my studio as soon as possible so I can locate my good circle cutter – I miss it!
Here's a detail shot of the punched areas. I love the detail of punch #304. It works with all sorts of projects and styles.
That's all for me this week! Watch my blog for the finished album, and don't forget to enter your own layouts, cards or gifts in the June sketch challenge!
